PRODUCT OF THE WEEK
Power Integrity Corporation Offers Solution to Bring Florida C-Store Owners into Compliance with New Law
As of June 1, 2007, many Florida c-store owners are not in compliance with a new Florida statute regarding generator connection capabilities. Florida's Department of Environmental Protection revisited this law last month and determined that 1,584 sites would need to be equipped for generator connection.

In order to enable convenience store owners to comply, Power Integrity Corporation (PICO) along with Eaton Electrical has introduced the Quick Connect Double Throw (QCDT) Transfer Switch. These transfer switches are UL listed and have been approved by many Florida inspectors.

Safety is the key benefit of the QCDT Transfer Switch. Key interlocks can possibly be defeated. Multiple keys can be made or the locks can be removed. The QCDT is 100 percent mutually exclusive. This means that both switches cannot be closed at the same time. This guarantees that the generator does not feed power back out to the utility. It also guarantees that there would not be paralleling of sources when the utility power is restored, which could damage the equipment and cause problems for the utility.
