DTN, a leading business information services company focused on agricultural, energy and weather business markets, announced approval from Underwriters Laboratories for its next generation control device, DTN PC3™. Part of the DTN Guardian3® (DTN G3) terminal automation suite, PC3 handles gate or door security control, product loading/unloading and process control. Constructed from sturdy machined aluminum, the DTN PC3 can operate in all types of weather conditions — from the high humidity of Hawaii, the blazing heat of a Texas summer, to the frigid cold of an Alaskan winter. The DTN PC3 is designed for easy, inexpensive installation in Class 1, Division 2, Groups A, B, C or D hazardous locations and is listed by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., for use in these areas. Each unit includes a card reader with receipt printing capability, a graphical display and a full alphanumeric keypad. The environmentally-sealed keypad is straight-forward and easy to use, with audible and tactile feedback for drivers. The unit can receive input from RFID or magnetic strip cards or directly from the driver via locally-defined screen prompts and validation criteria.
