Gilbarco’s (Greensboro, N.C.) FlexPay Encrypting PIN Pad enables retailers to process Triple Data Encryption Standard debit transactions at the pump with only a PIN pad replacement. Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards require retailers who accept debit to have encrypting PIN pads installed at the pump by July 2010 to avoid costly penalties. Gilbarco’s modular approach saves the average retailer with five dispensers an estimated $15,000 per site compared to CRIND® replacement, an approach that retailers have no reason to undertake.
The Gilbarco Encrypting PIN Pads are designed to comply with both the physical and logical security standards adopted by PCI, ultimately protecting consumers and retailers from debit fraud. The Encrypting PIN Pads are available factory-installed on Gilbarco Encore® S dispensers or as field retrofits for the retailer’s installed base.
