When NATO celebrates its tenth anniversary next year, the association will also launch at the same time a new retail tobacco trade show. Scheduled for the spring of 2011, the new NATO trade show will be held in Las Vegas in mid-April.
The two-day trade show event will be preceded the night before by the 2011 NATO Annual Awards Dinner, which will showcase the association’s accomplishments in battling tobacco-related legislation over the past ten years. Then, the trade show will kick off the next day with truly informative seminars, which will be planned by retailers for retailers. Following the seminars, the exhibit floor will be open for business for two days.
Many key manufacturers have already committed to the 2011 NATO Trade Show. Altadis, USA, Swisher International, Swedish Match, Republic Tobacco and National Tobacco Company have all formally committed to exhibit at the new NATO trade show.
Andrew Kerstein, president of NATO, announced the support of these major manufacturers by stating, “The response to NATO’s launch of the association’s own trade show has been overwhelming. The commitment by these key manufacturers clearly means that the tobacco community has great confidence in NATO and they are happy to lend their support behind an organization that fights for the tobacco rights of the consumer, the retailer, the wholesaler and the manufacturer.”
Besides these major manufacturer supporters, a number of additional NATO manufacturer and distributor members have also agreed to exhibit at the new trade show. These additional exhibitors include Arango Cigar Company, Carolina Tobacco, Dom Rey Cigar, Inc./Cusano Cigars, Drew Estate, Harold Levinson Associates, House of Oxford, K.K. International Corporation, King Maker Marketing, Renegade Tobacco/House of Windsor, Nat Sherman, Inc., New Image Global, Smoker Friendly International, Smokey Mountain Chew, U.S.Flue-Cured Tobacco Growers, Zander-Greg, Inc. and Zippo Lighter Company.
Steve Sandman, NATO board member and chairman of the trade show committee, described this excitement among exhibitors for the new NATO Trade Show when he stated: "Since our initial announcement about the trade show in March, and the commitment by the major tobacco companies to exhibit, numerous other important manufacturers and suppliers have not only committed for the new NATO trade show, but virtually every one of them has stated they are enthusiastic to support NATO's trade show, as they know it helps build resources for the organization to fight anti-tobacco legislation."
As an organization that has fought tobacco legislation for almost ten years, NATO has developed a stellar reputation in the tobacco industry. This reputation is allowing the association to expand its presence in the industry by planning a new trade show dedicated to being a true business to business event. The show will offer retailers the opportunity to learn how to improve their businesses as well as meet with exhibitors and be offered an array of tobacco products and accessories at very special pricing.
In fact, the new trade show will appeal to all different kinds of retailers that sell tobacco products from tobacco stores, to convenience stores, to liquor stores, to grocery stores and to service stations. The show will be designed to appeal to every kind of retailer because tobacco products and tobacco-related accessories are a key product category for all of these retail businesses.
As additional details are finalized for the new NATO trade show, those details will be communicated to NATO members and tobacco industry participants.
