As it prepares to expand through franchising, Swiss Farms won praise for its store format from Rick George, a professor of food marketing at St. Joseph's University, reported Harold Brubaker in The Philadelphia Inquirer. George, a long-time fan of Swiss Farms, told The Inquirer he views the company’s format as that of scaled-down convenience store. The retailer has a genuine opportunity to capitalize on the format as it expands, George told The Inquirer, especially if it can  sell more take-home meals as people cook less and less.
